73. It’s Time to Grow a Team

It is TIME to grow your team. (But I’m guessing you already knew that.)

Are you….

  • running around like a chicken with your head cut off
  • feeling burned out doing all the things for everyone
  • feeling resentful towards the people that aren’t helping
  • felling like you don’t have time to do all the things
  • feeling unfilled

Growing a team is individual and will look different for everyone. I’m not saying you need to go zero to 100 and hire nine contractors right now. I do not recommend that and your team does not need to look like mine.

Today we’re talking about growing by just one person. And if you have one person and are still feeling that burnout, it is time to grow your team to two, etc.

Let’s change the verbiage around the word “outsourcing”

I know I talk about outsourcing on here a lot, but I want to change the verbiage because I think outsourcing has a negative connotation with it.

It’s not just giving out the crap jobs or paying people to do the things we don’t want to do.

If we look at it like that, we’re missing out on a huge part of the growth and fulfillment that comes from outsourcing. Instead look at it as growing your team, supporting others and how they can support you.

There is NOTHING more fulfilling about running my business than my team.

What does growing your team look like?

Think about what your pain points are, at home, outside of your home, and in your business.

Is it…

  • Laundry
  • House Cleaning
  • Childcare
  • Editing
  • Emails
  • Blogging
  • Reels
  • Social Media

Focus on finding people that will be a great fit

When we’re hiring people for these specific jobs, we’re hiring people that want to do those jobs. When we’re hiring cleaners or VAs or marketers, that’s what fulfills them. It’s not giving them all the crap work. It’s giving them the opportunity to do things that they love.

If you have people on your team doing what they love, and they’re good at it, we’re giving an incredible experience to our clients because no longer is it one burnt out person doing all of the things.

Focus on looking at the pain points and finding those people that would be a great fit for those pain points, that love and are fulfilled by those things. It’s not hard to find reliable workers, we need to get out of that mindset!

What jobs can you hire for?

  • Nanny
  • Cleaner
  • Marketer
  • Email Marketing
  • Social Media
  • Reels
  • Blogs
  • Pinterest
  • VA
  • Bookkeeper
  • Laundry

The point is to look at your pain points and find someone who fits those needs. Create a job description based on those needs. That is how I hire everyone on my team.

When you grow your team with the right people all that work, burnout, and resentment will go away.

You will have someone in this with you who cares about your business so you’re not just doing this by yourself!

I have nine women who are in this with me — a whole team of people who care about the greater good of my business and they are at the top of my gratitude list everyday. I promise you, your life will be infinitely better and so will theirs!
